How to hire the right kitchen remodeling contractor in Jacksonville

When selecting a contractor to head your remodeling project, the following easy steps may mean the difference in confidence of project satisfaction and sleepless nights.

Request Referrals
Hands down, word of mouth, is the top method of finding a qualified expert to handle the job. Request from the contractor referrals of past clients of the projects they have completed.

Search Credentials
With recommendations on hand, perform a bit of preliminary research, whether it is with a visit to the contractor’s site or phone call. Figure out whether she or he holds all of the required licenses from local and state municipalities, alongside designations from professional associations like the National Kitchen and Bath Association, National Association of Homebuilders and National Association of the Remodeling Industry, Northeast Florida Builders Association, Northeast Florida Association of Realtors, Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce or St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce.

Interview Candidates
Narrow down a list of contenders then set meetings up. Attempt to keep it to 3 contractors, because things might become confusing after that. How the contractor answers questions is very important, yet communication will go both ways. Candidates also should ask a lot of questions.

Check References
Request to see a few of the contractors’ projects. If you like what you see, ask for references and contact contractors’ previous clients to check up on them. Request how the contractors performed at executing their projects. Were they on budget and on time? Were the clients pleased with their outcome? Was there anything which might’ve been performed differently?

Get it all in Writing
Upon choosing a contractor, look at the documents she or he prepared. Do they appear professional? Scrutinize your agreement. Does it seem balanced and fair?   If everything seems to check out, you may confidently sign on the dotted line.
